Build Your Traffic - Free Copy of Mastering Twitter

By The Way – Do You Know How Easy It is To ReTweet A Message You Have Received To Send It Out To Your Own Twitter Followers?

  • Highlight the message and copy/paste, including the Twitter name of the original sender
  • In the message box (What Are You Doing Now?) type RT @
  • Immediately adjacent to the @ (without a space) paste the copied message and, if you want to edit it to suit your own message to your Twitter followers, do it there, in the message box.
  • When you are satisfied with the message (whether you edit or just copy / paste), and after making sure it comes in under the 140 character limit, post.

Everyone of YOUR Twitter followers will get to read the message and you will have expanded your circle of influence, by doing a favour for a friend.

Be generous with your Retweets – when the message is good.  But, also, be aware of your own Twitter network.  If your network is less than 1,000 and your followers rate very highly on Twitter Grader, it is likely you are sharing many of the same followers, who will have seen the message in their own timeline.  Don’t clog the system – and you will have a good Twitter reputation.

    • HI Kathleen
Twitter lets you send off short quick messages to family, friends and business acquaintences – and each message has to be less than 140 characters – so, it really is to answer the question “What are you doing?” and keep in touch – by phone or internet. There are a lot of applications being developed on the open architecture of Twitter to help you track your messages and replies and you can also do DM or direct messages to one person that only they will see. I have only been using it for a little while and find it is very handy indeed. If you want people to read your blog, you can join twitter, connect with other people you know (like me, for instance) and ask me to RT or Retweet your link to the people I know.

If my friends like it, they will RT to their friends and voila` you have viral marketing at work – from a simple message you sent to me. You can be as active as you like and it can be a lot of fun. You should try it. Get the book from our site, it will help you! Cheers Lesley
